New reviews of AWE, famous coupling, and CA Conrad's Somatic Poetry Exercises

Check out a new review of my book AWE in InDigest Magazine.

Thanks so much InDigest Magazine and Jess Grover!!

Also, the wonderful Katie Fowley reviewed AWE in the recent Rain Taxi. Thanks Katie!!

Also, yeah, while you're at it, check out this site of famous astrological couples. I did!

(Can you believe that a Pisces woman and an Aquarius man could be happy forever AND make salad dressing--Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward? I could not.)

(I could believe that Hall and Oates are Libra/Aries though (you have to scroll down a bit.) That picture looks just like my buddy Laura and me--Libra/Aries.)

Also, you'd be remiss not to check out CA Conrad's latest Somatic Poetry Exercise (dedicated to genius Ish Klein) and follow it to the letter to write some beautiful poems. Write some garbage poems! Stop talking to people and write poems!! That's what I tell myself a lot. So, I guess that's what I'll tell you. But really I am telling that to myself. All day long.

The astrology here is pretty astounding.

I fucking love George Harrison. The fact that he is a Pisces makes me feel slightly less ashamed about Joe Lieberman being one too.

I wish this site was endless.

We could make an endless one.

I don't know how we could get pictures as awesome though.

Everybody knows Pisces are the best. Joe Lieberman is one bad among many greats.

I have heard, I have heard, that the one great Eric Baus is a Pisces.

Is this true?

I bet if we found images of Aries/Pisces friendships that by looking at them you could tell they were basically EB/DL bff style.

Wait, could we photoshop some Aries/Pisces together? What about Eddie Murphy (Aries/Scorpio moon) with George Harrison. That's me and you! I bet Eddie Murphy called up George Harrison at 3 a.m. to worry about a cut on his leg that he thought was infected. I also bet that George Harrison would have always picked up the phone.

Tell me this is not our friendship:

Some highlights:
"Pisces compatibility reports are a great resource in explaining my lifelong relationship with this friend. Pisces is a water sign. I am an Aries, which is a fire sign. It may seem that fire and water just don’t mix but surely a relationship that has lasted for over thirty years must have some kind of compatibility. Very likely, that daily Pisces horoscope has often told my good friend to use her thoughtful, sensitive personality to soothe her overly fiery Aries friend’s upsets. Thank goodness for that.

As an often misunderstood Aries girl, I am always going to need my Pisces friend nearby."

Yep.

I'm not your only Pisces? You *are* an Aries, aren't you ;)

What's up with all of the actors being Aquariuses--is that because since they can't deal with their *own* emotions they like to impersonate others having them...

Dorothea Lasky said...

I love all my Pisces friends!!!

I think Aquariuses are actors cause they have an uncanny sense of timing, because all Aquariuses are geniuses, ala Gertrude Stein, Justin Timberlake, and Abraham Lincoln.

I guess one could argue that those people are great actors, too, especially Stein.

Have you found that Aquariuses have a hard time dealing with their own emotions? I have always found Aquariuses to be delightfully emotional.

But, in my view, the most empathetic people are Pisces. I say this because they are the people most willing to put up with a lot of BS, because they are genuinely kind.

I just realized that my going on about this in a comment box seems a little weird, even to my understanding Pisces friends here.

The other day I thought about giving up astrology. There is only so much it can explain.

Please don't joke about giving up astrology. What would I do without your guidance? Seriously, that's crazy talk.

That is the kind of talk that happens when you're dyeing your hair and you get some in your eye and you think you are going blind and I have to talk you out of it for 2 hours. Hayo!

Thankfully to you I can still see, but I don't even remember our birthdays anymore, nor their level of importance.
